From a part-time job to a permanent position in finance
Rick began his career at Circle8 (then still Staffing Groep) in 2022 as a support staff member in the Financial Services department, through a temp agency. “It started as a side job alongside my studies,” he says. “I started by entering invoices, a good first introduction to the financial world.”
His dedication did not go unnoticed, for before long Rick joined Circle8. And now, a few years, a lot of experience and study kilometers later, he is taking the step into a new role as assistant controller.
“I'm looking forward to really delving into it”
This new role feels like a logical but also very valuable step for Rick: “I am super happy with this opportunity. I enjoy learning and am very curious about what else is involved in finance. Especially the depth and responsibility appeal to me.”
Room to grow and have fun
What Rick values most about Circle8? The space he has been given to learn and develop himself. “During my studies I was given a lot of flexibility. I could keep challenging myself, but at a pace that suited me. Circle8 really encourages growth, if you show that you want to, then they help you further.”
And perhaps the most beautiful insight that she takes to his new role: “Do your work with pleasure. If you enjoy what you do, learning comes naturally.”
A tip for colleagues with ambition
Finally, Rick also has a golden tip for colleagues who want to advance themselves:
“Always keep talking with your manager. If you make clear what your ambitions are, you can look together at what is possible. And often more is possible than you think!”
