We spoke with Jarno about his first months as a support employee at Financial Services, his experiences with the challenges, the team, and the freedom he gets here. Jarno shares how he found his way within Circle8, what he enjoys most about his role, and what ambitions he still has. Tell me, Jarno, how would you describe your first 88 days at Circle8?
“My first months as a Financial Service support employee at Circle8 were a journey full of learning moments and growth. In the beginning it took some getting used to the pace and the workload. Working 40 hours a week was quite a bit more than I was used to in previous side jobs, but I quickly found my rhythm. As the days went by, I noticed that everything ran more smoothly and that I was increasingly better at handling the workload. The work is varied, and every day brings new challenges, such as sorting out cold cases! The ‘Cold Cases’ project is about all outstanding items on both the debit and credit sides that are older than 2024. Thanks to the meetings with my supervisor, José, I am well guided and feel more confident in my role.”
How do you experience the collaboration with your colleagues and what do you like most about working at Circle8?
“The collaboration with my colleagues is excellent. Although it took some getting used to, I quickly discovered that we have an open and approachable team where communication runs smoothly. The team is nicely diverse, with people of different ages and backgrounds, which creates a pleasant dynamic. I can always turn to any of my colleagues with questions, which makes it very pleasant. Everyone is there for each other, which makes working together at Circle8 go very well.”
"What I like most about working at Circle8 is the freedom we are given. I have the space to contribute ideas to projects, and because of that I really feel involved in what’s going on. The flexibility in workload and the ability to work from home make it ideal. I truly feel that I am given the room here to grow and to provide my own input."
If you could swap professions for one day, which profession would you choose and why?
“If I could try another profession for a day, I would without a doubt want to be a pilot. The freedom to travel and discover other countries seems wonderful to me. The idea of being high up in the air and seeing the world from a different perspective appeals to me enormously!”
