Can you introduce yourself briefly?
My name is Iremnaz Sümbül, I am 17 years old and live in the cozy city of Utrecht. I study Assistant Business Services at MBO Utrecht and am currently doing my internship in the Financial Service department at Circle8.

What does your internship involve exactly?
During my internship I am diving into the financial world. I am learning how to interact with customers professionally, prepare invoices, book and process them. Everything related to invoicing and customer contact comes up. I started in november and will finish in januari.

How did you end up at Circle8?

How did I end up at Circle8? That was via the website Stagemarkt. I sent Michel an email in which I expressed my interest, and soon I was invited for an introductory meeting. Before that I didn't know Circle8 yet, but it is really a nice place to learn. The atmosphere is great, everyone is ready to help me and the communication is always clear.

How did you find the first period at Circle8?
The first weeks were great! I immediately noticed how warm and welcoming the atmosphere is. You can just tell it's a close-knit work environment where everyone gets along well. At the same time, it's also incredibly educational. There is so much knowledge around me, and everyone is ready to teach me something new.

What does a typical workday look like?
I start my day at 9 uur and say good morning to my colleagues. After that I get myself set up: I start up my laptop, get a cup of tea and check my mail. My day usually starts with Capturing, a program where all invoices arrive. Together with the team we check these invoices and make sure everything is processed correctly.

After Capturing, I often consult with Michel about my next tasks. No day is the same, because my duties range from processing invoices to customer contact. That variety makes the internship extra fun and educational.

What do you notice about your colleagues?
My colleagues are truly wonderful! What I admire so much is the calm and composure they radiate, even during complex conversations with customers. They take the time to thoroughly figure everything out and always remain friendly and clear. That gives me a lot of confidence and a good example to strive toward myself. The collaboration within the team is also very nice. Everyone helps each other, and that makes working here so pleasant.

If you could do a different job for one day, what would you choose?
If I could do something different for one day, I would like to work in the marketing department. Marketing has always intrigued me. I find it interesting to follow trends and come up with creative campaigns. Who knows, maybe after my studies I'll delve into this field!
